A simple and nutritious dal dish made with whole red lentils (masoor dal), cooked
Masoor Dal

Prep
Rinse masoor dal.
Pressure cook with sufficient water for 10 to 11 minutes.
Roast sesame seeds and desiccated coconut.
Grind the roasted mixture into a fine paste without water.
Cooking
Heat oil and sauté finely chopped onions.
Add ginger-garlic paste and continue to sauté.
Mix in chopped tomatoes and sauté.
Add spices and chopped coriander leaves.
Add the ground sesame-coconut mixture.
Add cooked masoor dal along with its stock.
Season with salt and simmer.
