A nutritious Odia dish combining split chick peas & veggies like raw papaya, potatoes seasoned with mustard seeds and spices.

Prep
Chop raw papaya, ginger, and potatoes, and soak split chickpeas.
Cooking
Pressure cook chopped raw papaya, potatoes, soaked split chickpeas, turmeric powder, salt, smashed ginger, and whole red chilies with a little water until one whistle.
In a pan, heat mustard oil and add bay leaf, paanch poran, cumin seeds (jeera), julienne onion, chopped ginger, and split whole green chilies. Mix well.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, salt, and lime juice. Stir thoroughly.
Transfer the cooked dal to the pan. Allow them to simmer together for 35-40 minutes. Serve hot.
