A quick, delicious, vegan chutney condiment made with peanuts, chana dal, sesame seeds, spices, and herbs. Serve it with the classic South Indian breakfast of idli, dosa, medu vada, or uttapam for a hearty, wholesome, healthy meal.
Peanuts, Raw

Bengal Gram Lentil
1 tbsp
Green Chillies
1 chilli
Fresh Garlic
1 clove
Sesame Seeds
0.5 tbsp
Curry Leaves
7 leaf
Mustard Oil
0.5 tbsp
Asafoetida
1 pinch
Salt
1 pinch
Water

Prep
Heat oil in a pan, add chana dal while on low heat.
Spread it evenly on the pan and fry until golden. Ensure it does not burn.
Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
In the same oil, add peanuts and roast them until crispy and crunchy. Keep stirring.
Add curry leaves, green chilies, garlic cloves, and asafoetida. Sauté till the curry leaves become crisp.
Add sesame seeds and mix. Switch off the heat. Set the pan aside to cool.
Cooking
When the ingredients cool down, place them in a blender and add fried chana dal and salt as per taste.
Add water in parts and blend to a smooth consistency.
Keep peanut chutney in a bowl.
